Anna Ferrante

|
Anna is a Research Fellow at the Crime Research Centre, University of WA. Her background is in Mathematics and Computing. Her early involvement with the Centre was as a computer consultant in the area of record-linkage (probabilistic data-matching). She became involved in the INOIS project, a multi-agency project to match offender records across the WA justice system and establish a comprehensive longitudinal database for criminological research.
Anna spends a lot of her time collecting, analysing and trying to understand crime data and the workings of the WA criminal justice system. She has primary responsibility for production of the Centre's annual Statistical Report "Crime and Justice Statistics for Western Australia".Over the past few years, she has been involved in a number of research projects, including a study into the measurement of the extent of domestic violence in WA, also research relating to juvenile justice; Aboriginal contact with the criminal justice system; simple cannabis offenders; drink-driving, road rage, and research into driving while under licence suspension.
Ahe is currently enrolled in a PhD on Juvenile Delinquency.
